Sam Gottsegen is a graduating senior at the Barney School of Business. He is a business management major and will be graduating a semester early this December. This past summer, Gottsegen had the opportunity to intern at Travelers within their Product Management Development Program. During his internship, Sam was responsible for maintaining profitable growth within the automotive market across personal insurance.
Gottsegen states that he owes this opportunity to the support he received during his time at the Barney School. “Without the professors in Barney, I would not have been prepared to start my career in the real work,” he says. “They offered constant support and guidance throughout my education and did everything they could to ensure my success.”
The Barney School also works hard to provide a diverse curriculum that prepares students to not only have the skills to complete a job, but also the talents to create a résumé, interview successfully, and market themselves to potential employers. The leadership skills that Gottsegen learned throughout his experience at Barney allowed him to excel in his time at Travelers. He helped start UHart’s DECA chapter his first year and remained president of the club through this year when he became a student advisor for the Barney club.
